eWiSACWIS utilizes the State of Wisconsin internet security. The State's Web Access Management System (WAMS) allows authorized individuals to access State Internet applications using the same means of identification for all State Web applications.

Your Wisconsin User ID and password verifies your identity so that we can provide you with access to your information and services and prevent access by unauthorized individuals. You should register using the same e-mail account and naming convention that you use for eWiSACWIS. The registration process consists of three main components: the first is the self-registration to create a WAMS account with the State of Wisconsin ; the second is having a supervisor create the new worker record in eWiSACWIS, and the third is the ePASS request by your county Security Delegate to grant you access to the eWiSACWIS application.

Remember this user ID and password - it will be your only means of access to eWiSACWIS.

Q: What is WAMS and why do I need it?   Back to top

A: eWiSACWIS utilizes the State of Wisconsin internet security. The State's Web Access Management System (WAMS) allows authorized individuals to access State Internet applications using the same means of identification for all State Web applications. For example, a user can use the same Wisconsin User ID and password to access eWiSACWIS, Kinship Care or WANDA.

eWiSACWIS requires you to provide a Wisconsin User ID and password. Your Wisconsin User ID and password verifies your identity so that we can provide you with access to your information and services and prevent access by unauthorized individuals. You should register using the same e-mail account and naming convention that you use for WiSACWIS.

Q: How do I get a WAMS ID?  Back to top

A: WAMS provides a self-registration process to request a Wisconsin User ID and Password. Self-Registration allows you to create your own personal Wisconsin Login Account. This is your key to doing secure business with the State of Wisconsin over the Internet. This is your key to eWiSACWIS. This account belongs to you. It does not belong to your current employer.

Take care to remember and protect your User ID, Password and Secret Answer.

You must provide a valid, unique e-mail address to self-register for a Wisconsin Login Account. Correspondence regarding your Wisconsin User ID, password or other information about your Wisconsin Login Account will be sent to this e-mail address. You should register using the same name and e-mail address currently used in WiSACWIS

Q: What if I already have a WAMS ID?  Back to top

A: You do not need to create another WAMS account. State web applications are designed to use the same WAMS user account information. The same login ID & password can be used for multiple applications such as eWiSACWIS, WANDA, Kinship Care, GAC, etc.  Your county Security Delegate will need to submit the ePASS request to grant your WAMS account access to eWiSACWIS.

Q: What if I receive a message that my e-mail is already in use?  Back to top

A: If you already have an account with WAMS- you may receive the message "The e-mail address you entered has already been registered and cannot be used by another person". If you use another application that uses WAMS, such as Kinship Care - you do not need to create another WAMS account. Your county Security Delegate will need to submit the ePASS request to grant your WAMS account access to eWiSACWIS.  If you've forgotten the login id or password, proceed to Account Recovery (see What if I forget my User ID or Password? below).

Q: What is the Secret Question for?  Back to top

A: The secret question and answer is for your use if you forget your password and/or your User ID. With a well-chosen question and answer, the automated Account Recovery process will allow you to continue to use your account without the need to call for help. Account Recovery will provide you with your Secret Question. When you provide the correct Answer to your Secret Question it will allow you to change your password.

The answer to your question should be:

  • Short — One word that would always be typed the same way. This is so that our automated account recovery process can unambiguously match your answer.
  • Consistent — Does not change over time.
  • Not easily guessed — There should be many possible wrong answers. Choose something that is not generally known and could not easily be obtained — particularly if it could be obtained electronically.

Possibilities include:

  • What is my mother’s maiden name?
  • What was my elementary school name?
  • What is the name of my pet?

Q: How do I make changes to my WAMS Account information?   Back to top

A: Profile Management allows you to change your account information. Information such as name, user id, e-mail address, password, secret question & answer and other information. This account belongs to you. Take care to remember and protect your User ID, Password and Secret Answer. They are your keys to doing secure business with the State of Wisconsin over the Internet. They are your keys to eWiSACWIS.

Q: What if I forget my Password or User ID?  Back to top

A: Account Recovery is used to restore access to your account if you can not remember your password or your Wisconsin User ID. You may access Account Recovery with as little information as your e-mail address or login ID. An e-mail is then generated with a link provided to continue Account Recovery. Click on the link (or cut and paste into your browser). You will be prompted with your Secret Question - provide the answer to your Secret Question and create a new password.

Use this link http://on.wisconsin.gov and then Click on "Account Recovery" to restore access to your account.

You must know the answer to your secret question and you must have access to the e-mail address in your account. If your account is very old or was manually set up, you may not have a Secret Question to answer. If you don't have a secret question or forget the answer to your secret question, contact the Help Desk. Once your account is recovered, you should complete the Profile Management process to change your password and create a Secret Question for future recovery of your account.

I received an email saying my access was granted but I am getting a ‘403 Forbidden’ error, why?  Back to top

It can take several hours for our servers to be updated with your new Wisconsin User ID which will then allow you to log in successfully.  Another possibility is to make sure your shortcut to eWiSACWIS is correct.
