Wisconsin Shares Suspension

Rationale for Reasonable Suspicion of Program Violation:

The Department of Children and Families suspended this child care provider from the Wisconsin Shares program due to red flags that signified Shares violations and the results of a comparison between collected attendance records and hours billed. The red flags were identified through data and in person visits.

During a visit by Department of Children and Families licensors on September 25, 2009, attendance records for the day were inaccurate. In one classroom, there were 4 children present and 3 indicated on the attendance record. In another, there were 6 children present and 4 indicated on the attendance record.

Attendance records were captured in pencil, and appeared to be in all the same handwriting (despite the high number of children served).
