Viewers and Browser Support Standards

NON-DCF EMPLOYEES:

If you are not a DCF employee we suggest you contact your Tech Support staff regarding installation/use of the viewers listed below.

DCF Website and Application Browser Support

DCF supports browsers that have a user market share of 5% or higher and support the W3C standard for Cascading Style Sheets. Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox, meet the 5% support minimum. Other browsers (Opera, Mozilla, Netscape, IE 7) and platforms (Linux) may also work, but we do not support them.

DCF web-based applications may have additional requirements (ex: cookies and JavaScript active).

Adobe Reader

The Adobe® Reader™ is free, and freely distributable, software that lets you view and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files.

If you are unable to view a PDF file with your web browser, you may download/save PDF files to your computer and open them with the free standalone Acrobat Reader. Adobe Reader is available at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Microsoft Viewers

With the help of converters and viewers from Microsoft® Office Update, you can share your Microsoft Office files with people who have different versions of Office applications, or even with people who don't have Office at all. Converters allow you to open files created by people using different versions of your Office programs. Viewers allow people who don't have Office programs to see your work. Simply provide them with the appropriate viewer along with your files.

  • MS Access 97 Snapshot Viewer - Microsoft Access 97 Service Release 1 and Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 1 enable you to save a static picture of a Microsoft Access 97 report in an external file format (*.snp). You can then make the report available to someone who does not have Microsoft Access 97. For example, you can send the report in e-mail or copy it to a person's hard disk. The person needs only the Microsoft Snapshot Viewer to be able to view the report.

  • MS Excel 2003 - With Excel Viewer 2003, you can open, view, and print Excel workbooks, even if you don't have Excel installed. You can also copy data from Excel Viewer 2003 to another program. However, you cannot edit data, save a workbook, or create a new workbook. This download is a replacement for Excel Viewer 97 and all previous Excel Viewer versions.

  • MS PowerPoint 2003 - PowerPoint Viewer 2003 lets you view full-featured presentations created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions. This viewer also supports opening password-protected Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. You can view and print presentations, but you cannot edit them in the PowerPoint Viewer 2003.

  • MS Visio 2002 - The Microsoft Visio® 2002 Viewer allows anyone to view Visio drawings and diagrams (if created with Visio 5, 2000, or 2002) inside their Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later Web browser.

  • MS Word 2003 - Word Viewer 2003 lets you open Word 2003 documents and documents created with all previous versions of Microsoft Word for Windows® and Microsoft Word for Macintosh. In addition to Word document files (.doc), you can also open files saved many other formats.

With Word Viewer 2003, you can view, print, and copy document contents to another program. However, you cannot edit an open document, save a document, or create a new document. This download is a replacement for Word 97 Viewer and all previous Word Viewer versions.
